Pricing questions
What counts as partner revenue?
The total sale amount behind the commissions booked in a calendar month, after discounts and without tax. Only customers a partner referred count. Sales from your own marketing never touch the cap.
What happens when I pass my plan's cap?
Nothing stops. Tracking, commissions and payouts keep running and partners are paid in full. The billing page asks you to move up a plan and never switches it for you.
What does self-hosting cost in practice?
There is no license fee. You pay for one container, a Postgres 16 database and an email service, and you handle HTTPS, backups and upgrades. See Self-hosting for the full setup.
What do payout rails charge?
Is there free affiliate software for SaaS?
Yes. OpenPromoter is free to self-host under AGPL-3.0 with every feature and no limits. On Cloud the Free plan covers up to $1k a month in partner revenue.
Do affiliate platforms take a cut of payouts?
How much does Rewardful cost compared with OpenPromoter?
Rewardful starts at $49 a month for up to $7.5k in affiliate revenue. OpenPromoter Cloud covers up to $10k for $29 a month. See the full OpenPromoter vs Rewardful table.
Is there a limit on partners?
No. Every OpenPromoter plan has unlimited partners. Dub's Business plan allows 500 partners and FirstPromoter's Starter plan allows 1,000 affiliates.
Do I need a card to start?
No. The Free plan needs no card. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe.
Is the self-hosted version limited?
No. It has every feature and no revenue, partner or program limits. The whole repository is AGPL-3.0 with no paid-only code.
Is AI included in the price?
Yes, on every Cloud plan. Free covers the AI program setup. Starter includes a monthly AI allowance, Growth three times as much and Scale ten times as much. If a month's allowance runs out, features use built-in templates until the next month. When you self-host, you bring your own Anthropic, OpenAI or OpenAI-compatible key.
Can I take my data with me?
Yes. Export partners, customers, commissions, payouts, analytics and the audit log as CSV at any time.
